| This very unique apartment, on the top
floor of a 13th century palazzo within the walled city of Lucca, was
once occupied by Dante Alighieri, one of Italy's most famous poets.
The apartment itself is located in the tower of the palazzo, which has
slowly been completely restored under strict control of the Italian
Monuments and Fine Arts Commission. |

Reached by the original stone stairway (70 steps, no
elevator) the 1200 square foot apartment is a pure delight from the
moment you open the door. The entryway has been frescoed by a
local artist with a life size likeness of Dante in full medieval dress. |

| Throughout the apartment, the original
beams have been reinforced and left intact giving great height to all
the rooms. The very light and open living room is comfortably
furnished with upholstered pieces, lovely accent tables, a great wall of
bookcases and a raised hearth fireplace. |

| The kitchen is beautiful......fully
equipped with all new appliances (freezer, refrigerator, oven, stove,
dishwasher, microwave), lots of counter space, and a wonderful dining
area made very cozy by banquette seating and an antique table.
There are two large windows in the kitchen with great rooftop views. |

| There are two comfortably furnished
double bedrooms, each with a double bed and large storage armoire.
Because this palazzo is located in the medieval section of the walled
city, traffic is prohibited so the area is very peaceful and quiet. |

| The apartment's two baths have been
outfitted with the newest fixtures and are sleekly decorated with lively
colors and beautiful tile work. |

| A small sitting room in the front of the
apartment looks out over one of Lucca's most elegant shopping
streets.....and it's at eye level with the spire of the wonderful church
across the street and all of the city's rooftops. |

The apartment features satellite TV, a DVD player as
well as internet connection. Utilities are included in the price
of the rental except for heating which is billed according to use during
the winter months.
Price per week for the 2010
season:
1,200 Euro throughout the year.
