| A true Renaissance villa with its own chapel, formal gardens, olive oil press and castle ruins, Villa Controni was completely restored in 2005. The villa was built as the summer home of an important Lucca family who cultivated rare flowers on the estate. It has now been transformed into a luxurious retreat where one can experience a very compelling Italian lifestyle in a private setting. | |

| The ground floor consists of a large entry hall, spacious and comfortably furnished living room, very large dining room, study, billiards room, kitchen and service areas as well as two bathrooms. The study is equipped with satellite TV, internet connection and a music system. The dining room, pictured above left, is arranged to accommodate 22 guests in a formal setting. The billiards room, pictured above right, is a favorite spot after dinner and it opens onto the dining room. | |

| From the arched entry hall, a large stairway brings you to the first floor which contains six bedroom suites, each with its own private bath. A large central salon, comfortably furnished with sofas, armchairs and satellite TV, provides another private area for use by the guests on the this floor. | |

| Reached by a beautiful stone staircase, the second floor features an additional five suites, one of which is the master suite with its own dressing room (pictured above to the left). All rooms have their own ensuite bath and shower facilities and also feature expansive views over the Lucca countryside. | |

| The outside areas of the Villa are quite wonderful. There is a large floodlit swimming pool surrounded by lounge furniture and umbrellas. There is also a barbeque area and one of the patio areas, pictured above right, lends itself perfectly to al fresco dining. | |

| The grounds also feature many very picturesque settings in which to relax and enjoy private moments. Pictured above to the left is the villa's own chapel, and to the right one of the garden areas which is situated in a quiet shady spot. | |

Villa Controni offers a very high level of personal services for its
guests. Staff includes a house manager and service staff of three
who care for the villa and see to the needs of guests as well as
providing service for a continental breakfast each morning and table
service for either lunch or dinner six days per week. A chef
prepares either lunch or dinner six days per week.
Other staff care for the pool and grounds Guests are responsible for household bills including food and beverages (breakfast is charged at 10 euro per person and lunch or dinner is charged at 40 euro per person), telephone, fax and internet charges and personal laundry. |
